Music or Books?

Your mind is a special resource that needs your attention. In a world where so many things happen at the same time. There has never been a time in history than now to protect your mind. There are a lot of competing interests that get in the way. Therefore, you must stand guard all the time. Your life cannot make progress without your mind. You might not see it or know it. However, everything you do require your thinking. Thereby, underscoring the importance of the things that you feed your mind. These things matter because during your critical moments. They become your messages. And these messages are a make or break. When you are having a bad day or year. You need strong messages. Strong messages that have the capacity to pull you back from your points of stagnation. When you are looking to get yourself into good mood or good sense. The messages in your mind matters.

Your mind is the primary source of the messages. The things that you consume feed your mind. These things matter. Some of the common sources of food that the mind feeds on include but not limited to the following; music, conversations, movies, books, your environment, and television among others. Whatever works for you matters. As different people, we are attracted to different things. And people are loyal to their favorites. These favorite things become their go-to sources of information. Anything you consume has an impact on your life and mind. Music is as powerful, as books. There is always a message in the music or books that you listen or read. The message in the music or book is important. The movies you like to watch have specific messages for your mind.

Your mind picks materials from all the main materials that you feed it. And it plays back the messages to you. The words or lines that the mind remembers in the middle of the week speaks to you. They impact you. They shape you. People are broken or built by these messages. You must be careful with what you feed your mind. You must choose wisely. It is your responsibility to choose wisely. Popular culture has everything you need. Your only task is to mention what you need. Culture will give you what you ask it. And on top of that, it also gives you options. A lot of options for that matter. Pop culture has custom-made solutions. They meet your every requirement. Precision is at its absolute best when it comes to finding what you want. You cannot run out of what to feed your mind. Just know what you want and you will get it.

And that is where problems begin. Some people don’t know what they need. So they take everything placed on the table. They do so without thinking of the consequences. Consuming everything has repercussions. If you don’t learn to choose carefully. You might ruin your mind. The everything that you take could be toxic to your mind. The choice could be poisonous. At your critical moment, that toxicity can easily break you apart. During your bad day or year. You need strong positive messages. You want messages that keep you strong. Messages that can help you wither the storms. You need messages that tell you, “you are in charge not circumstances.” When you feed your mind the wrong things. You will have a rough time facing your bad day. Wrong messages make you see mountains where there are no mountains.

 Feed Your Mind the Right Food

Note that anything you allow to access your mind whether positive or negative has consequences. Music is not just music. It does not just entertain you. Beyond entertainment and keeping you in good mood.  There is a message in every single lyric you hear in the genre of music you love listening to most of the time. Everything that you deem as entertainment has consequences. Sometimes, you become the messages you feed your mind. The role of this post is to remind you to care. Care enough to choose the right foods for your mind. Whether the food is music or any other medium you love. Choose carefully. Choose the right genre of music, film, books, or conversations. There are different genres of music, film, videos, books, and conversations. Narrow down your choices. Choose what builds you.

Choose what keeps you steady during your turbulent times. During your bad year or day, you need more than a friend. The messages that come from within are stronger than your fine linen. These messages have power over your life. They can change you for better or worse. They determine whether you get out of your challenges strengthened or weakened. When your mind plays back what you feed it. It highlights the dominant messages in your mind or heart. Your mind talks. And when it talks. It taps from the sources you constantly feed it. You must know what you feed your mind. Not everything is meant for consumption. The mere fact that the food is on the market does not mean it is the right food. You must sort through things. Find yourself in the sources of food that you feed your mind with.     

 

As individual human beings, we are very particular. Approve only what defines you. approve the right foods. Choose the right music for your mind. Choose the right books. Choose the right conversations for your mind. Choose that which empowers you. Feed your mind what helps it to grow. Feed your mind what helps it to remain positive. Choose what sees a way in a mountain. Don’t pick everything culture offers you. At your utmost need, you only need one or two things from the culture. Find the right sources of information and stick with them. Protect your mind from what can harm it. This is your responsibility too. To mind what your eyes see. And what your ears hear. Prevent negative sources from your eyes and ears. Focus on the right food only. You can only arrive at what is right for your mind when you know yourself. Therefore, if you want to identify correct materials for your mind. Start by knowing yourself. Know your limits. Know your interests. Once you narrow down. You can easily settle for what fits your mind.
