WHAT IS YOUR KNOWLEDGE WORTH?
BUILDING BETTER HABITS
Why Knowledge is Power
Knowledge
is power as you have been told or heard before. And I would like to reiterate
it again perhaps, for the 100th time that knowledge is power. Knowledge
is power because it gives you control of your own life. It puts you in charge. You
are able to use the skills, facts, and information from your theoretical or practical
life to make decisions. The decisions that you make are not just mere
decisions. They are informed decisions. Decisions that assist you to differentiate
between good and bad. Knowledge aids you to know what is right and what is
wrong. Further, information helps you to overcome your weaknesses and create
something out of yourself. Knowledge empowers you to do and become more. In essence,
knowledge is power because it gives you control, which you can leverage to
create new things.
This is important because initially, life was not like that. Not everyone was in total control of his or her life as it is now. So you have to appreciate the progress that the world has made in terms of creating level playing field. The field might not be level as you like it but at least you are a free human being. Capable of making his or her own decisions without the influence of other people. Consider that progress. You are capable of changing a few things around you. If you you consider yourself as a normal right thinking member of society. then you can change something about yourself. These changes often times, come from a basis of a certain knowledge. Your knowledge could come from training or experiences you have gained in your life. The fact that you have information or facts about something. Means you can apply that knowledge to your advantage. The benefit I am referring to here is legal. People use knowledge for different reasons. However, I will emphasis the legal application of knowledge.
What is it Worth?
What is
the knowledge you have amassed along the years’ worth? Do the information you
have worth anything? Can it save you when you are in a crisis? What is your
knowledge worth? Think about it. You work so hard to acquire knowledge. You endure
a lot seeking knowledge. All the hard work that you put in must surely amount to
something. Something that is worth more than getting a job or opening a
successful business. The knowledge you have gained should help you during critical times. And the best assessment you can apply to your knowledge is to ask yourself if, you have confidence in your knowledge. Can your knowledge pull
you out of something you thought you could not survive? Have you experienced
something like that in your life? What was it and how did you apply your
knowledge? (DiscussJ)
Mine is worth Freedom
Just as philosopher Francis Bacon coined the phrase “Knowledge is power” in the
15th Century. I personally agree with his observation. Knowledge is power. I totally agree that knowledge in itself is power. It is
power because of the influence it has over an individual. I have seen how
knowledge has shaped me as an individual. It has changed my life completely. I have
been able to use the strength of my knowledge to my benefit. I am able to do a lot
of things because I know how to apply my knowledge. Perhaps, I can sum up the
worth of my knowledge as freedom. Knowledge freed me from the bondages of
ignorance. Ignorance can imprison you. And I don’t like being in a prison under
any circumstances. I am free and I would like to remain free. When I am free, I
am able to think and solve problems. The knowledge I have gained through change
of time is able to save me.
I don’t take knowledge for granted. I value it and I use it for my good and the good of others. Whereas, other people have built reputations with their knowledge, my knowledge has led me to a beautiful path. A path of living conscious and making informed decisions. Knowledge has helped me to sharpen my senses and antennae. I am able to pick signals from a far. In short, no one can cheat their way into my life. No one can use unforeseeable forces to create influences in my life that are supposed to harm me. My senses are awake and alert. I always know when something is not right. So don’t play those games with me. The knowledge that I acquired in childhood and adulthood has served me well. I have power in my hands. I am in complete control of my life. Not any other man or woman. But myself.
Know the Worth of Your Knowledge
You also need to know the worth of your knowledge. Because as you know it, this is life. And in life, people try different things. There are people who mind the business of other people. Those people think that they can influence decisions and behavior of other people. They think that they are wise and that they can use other forces to control others. And if you are not careful, they will control you. They will steal your freedom. And they will put you in a certain prison. At the surface, you will appear like a normal free person. However, in reality you are not free. Someone who thinks can put you in check, would have burdened you with unnecessary loads. Loads that are meant to bring detours, stagnation, and destruction. You will not know that there is another influence other than you if, you lack knowledge. Knowledge begot wisdom. You need wisdom.
And if you don’t have knowledge now. Aim to acquire some. Every decision and step you take in life require awareness. If you don’t have confidence in your own knowledge, find someone you can trust. The right person that is dependable and honest. And while at it, also know that the number of honest and trustworthy people has dropped significant in the last 50 years due to different factors. Some people are just afraid of facing the truth, while others based on sociologist Emile Durkheim cannot do the right thing. They have crime-oriented genes in their bodies and they don’t know how to follow rules and regulations that govern societies. Such people always have friction with the law. They never get along very well. So you need to be careful in your selection process. Think carefully before you settle on someone.
You need to know the worth of your knowledge so that you can escape danger. In the contemporary society, problems are all over. Some you create while others are created by other people. And you are forced to deal with it. Don’t take it lightly when you are the one, always fixing problems created by other people. That is not normal. You got your own life to live. Don’t spend your time in the mess of other people. Know the worth of your knowledge and draw wisdom from it. Fill the gaps in your life by applying your knowledge. We all have enemies and you are no exception. In fact, an average person has at least four enemies according to research studies. According to YouGov survey carried out in 2020, at least 18 percent of United Kingdom adults have a mental or physical list of supposed enemies. You also have enemies that you know or don’t know. What the survey is saying on a large scale application is that; no one is safe. Be aware of that. And use your knowledge accordingly.
