TEN MIGHT NOT LIKE YOU

Like You?
Why
might they not like you? You are hard working. Ambitious and very resourceful.
You know how to dream. You know how to get to work. However, these ten might still
not like you. The many things that you have done in the past might not still be
enough. You are not enough. Even when you check most of their requirements.
That last box that you did not check made you unattractive. They have these type
of standards that they feel you do not fit. You will have to work harder. When
in reality, the things that you have been telling these ten that you can do.
You have done them 100 times in the last several years. You know how to
complete these tasks. You have been doing these same tasks for over seven
years. You are qualified. You have supreme confidence in your capabilities and
strengths.
You are the right person. You have what it takes. You are ready for the market. The only thing remaining is someone to trust you. You need someone who is interested in listening. Someone that is not rushing. You need someone who is serious. A person that is deeply invested in what he/she is looking for. And is willing to try out new things. You are actually not new. You are a tried and tested kind of person. You have seen how the scratch looks. You started from there and worked your way up. But you want more. And you have stretched your fishing nets. The nets have attracted potential fish. Actually, your nets are catching a lot of fish. However, upon further investigation. The attracted fish are not ready. They jumped into your net when they were not ready. And they have decided that they don’t like you. You are not the right fit.
But are they sure? Are they genuine? Were they serious from the beginning? But there is a difference between saying you can do something. And actually implementing the right actions to accomplish what you said you can do. The ten heard you. They heard that you can do something. Something that you are truly good at. However, what the ten are not doing is giving you a platform to prove yourself. They are busy. They have a lot of options. And based on their thinking. They can get what they are looking for from the options in front of them. Though you have most of what they are also looking for. You are not exactly what they want. They want something complete. And you are not complete. There are a few boxes on their list that you did not check. The stakes are high. You have to be the right person in their eyes.
But You Only Need One
You
don’t need ten people to like you to make progress. Your biggest milestones
only need one person to like you. You only need one person who is willing to go
beyond well-known. Someone that can try out new things. Someone that is
listening. Someone that takes the seven years seriously. You told ten that you
have been doing those tasks for the last seven years. However, the ten were
more interested in checking all their boxes. They wanted to check the boxes
first before looking at your seven years. But you became unattractive when you
failed to check the last box. And that made you less qualified. However, the
one person you need will move past the boxes. Seven years are attractive to the
person than the boxes. This person is willing to listen more and see what you
can offer. He/she is interested.
The one right person will seek an audience with you. The person will give you a platform to prove yourself. Of course there are things on the list of this person that you might not have met. But still, the person wants to proceed with you. The person believes that if you can do what you said you can do. Then you can also learn new things. The one person is not looking for popularity. The individual is looking at what works. If you have been doing these same tasks for seven years. You can do these new tasks now. Now might look different from the past. But your past experience qualifies you. You have been in the streets. And you know how it feels. You know the pressure. You know what it means when a deadline is missed. You know the risks of not doing these tasks. You know what you can lose. You know what everyone can lose.
Not everyone can see value. But the right ones see value. And open up doors for strangers. When strangers knock on a door. They are not looking for much. In most occasions, strangers only need someone to believe them. To see what they are offering. And take a chance on them. That is all they ask for. Someone to see and trust. Outsiders have more skills than the underestimation and doubts. And only the bold see beyond doubt. Majority will pass on them. Because majority love comfort zones. Familiar is easier to manage than strange. And most people will rush for familiarity. And when that happens. There will be qualified people who will be left out. They will be left out because they don’t fit. And you cannot blame the ten for not liking you. They are just being normal. And looking out for themselves.
You really don’t look like what they want. And they know what they want. You have to let them pick what they want. And you continue fishing. In fact, double your efforts. Fish more than you have fished in the last two months. Your focus is to land one right fish. While at it. You will come across many fish. And all those many will find you unfit. But you know who you are. What you have accomplished. These many don’t know who you are. And you can’t force them to know you. But one will want to know you. That is where your energy should go. To get to the right one. So prepare yourself for many rejections. These rejections too will test your commitment. You must also be the right person in your own quest. Do you have the patience? This is an important question for you. Getting to one person is hard. Because it will require you to go back to the drawing board multiple times. Whereas, ten might not like you. In the end. You need to know that you are the catalyst. If you know that what you possess has value. Don't look at the ten or the a thousand that don't see value. Look forward. And keep moving. Find one not ten thousand.
