Big World

It is interesting to live in a big world. A lot of things happen. People in particular are interesting. They play games with each other in a big world. In addition to playing games. They also misuse each other. And they love their lives either way. When it comes to playing games. Both the affluent and ordinary people take part in equal measure. The only difference is the level of sophistication. Or should we just call it treachery. And while doing these activities. People think they are wise. Because they are taking action at the right time. But don’t be silly. Especially if you are the pawn. The pawn in this context is someone who allows him or herself to be used. You allow yourself to become a tool that other people use to cause pain, loss, and frustration. To other people whom you have no business with other than being paid to mistreat, harm, and destroy.    

And you happily took the job because you needed money. In your small or big world. The dignity of other people does not matter. As long as, there is money on the table. Some people can do anything. That is sad. Because every action has consequences. If you allow yourself to be used to cause pain, loss, frustration, and even death. You are not wise. You are planting a seed. And that seed will germinate. And when it eventually becomes fruitful. That would be the saddest day in your big world. The money that other people use to entice other people into committing crimes is temporary. However, the action is permanent. The same pain, frustration, and loss committed against other people will come back to you. And when that happens. You will feel the pinch of every inch in the pain. The money will be all gone. But reality will prevail to mock your humanly wisdom.  

The fact that you are idle, greedy, or purposeless is not the point. The point is, every action has consequences. It does not matter your motives then. As long as, you took an action. You will account for it. There are no free things in a big world. Everything has a price tag. And sometimes, people just don’t see the price. Those who become guns for hire do not see the price. They only see what is in front of them. And the thing in front of them is exciting. So they just pick it and go. Because their minds are on something else. They are eager to perform the duties attached to the carrot being dangled in front of them. They want the carrot so bad that they never think or even ask questions. That is sad too. For while the person who steps on something forgets. The something stepped on does not forget.

Memory

Pain is never forgotten. The person whom pain has been meted does not forget. The pain becomes a scar. A scar that will never be forgotten. Destroying something that someone took time to build is never forgotten. Killing a promising dream is not just nothing. Something happened. And people will remember. And time does not matter. An action will be remembered even after a century. Because memory is a long-term effect of something done in the past or present. It cannot be erased. It cannot be silenced. As long as, it is there. It will remember. And most often, the people playing games. And the people being used to play those bad games do not think about the memory. They think about punishment. Intimidation. And silencing. They are more about making a statement. And to them. Pain is a statement.

And once that objective is met. They consider the job done. Money exchange hands. And people part ways. At no point, do people playing games with other people. And those being used think about the consequences. They never see their actions as seeds. In fact, they never see anything at all. Their focus is usually on the wrong things. Their interpretation of what they are doing and what that means is also wrong. People who allow themselves to be used to harm others. Only help their bosses to achieve a short-term gratification. The boss is normally interested in eliminating a fly buzzing around them. And he or she easily connects the need to eliminate something with someone who is idle, greedy, or just foolish. And to their satisfaction or surprise. They find a person or a group of people who fit those descriptions.

This whole process does not consider consequences. The boss and the ‘gun’ for hire are both short-term. One wants to remove a fly. And the other is interested in the carrot. So once those goals are accomplished. People walk away as if nothing happened. But something happened. It does not matter how the parties involved want to minimize the action. something horrible took place. And it does not matter whether people involved want to erase it. As long as it happened. It will always remain as evidence. A scar is evidence of an action. The person who carries the scar cannot be ignored. The scar will be remembered. Because a scar is a representation of something that happened. And when people look at that scar. They will remember something. And it does not matter whether the boss or the person used have forgotten.

As long as, a seed was planted. That seed will germinate. So you need to be careful of what you are doing. The choices you are making might be a seed. What you are doing or not doing is also a seed. Don’t be foolish. Think twice about everything. Whether you are targeted or not. Always use your common sense. You cannot harm other people and walk away free. It is not that simple. Receiving money to perform a certain duty could be straightforward. However, actions are not straightforward. There is always an ethic behind an action. People employ different ethics to justify their actions. We will take a child’s ethics as an example. This is a good example because it is simple. When kids play together. They do a lot of things. They not only cement friendships with fellow kids but also fight each other.

Those who fight during play time have reasons why they fight. One of those common reasons is that a child fought back because someone fought him or her first. If a fellow child stepped on another. The other who felt the pain can easily do the same either immediately or after sometime. If a stranger pass by and sees one child stepping on the toes of the other. He or she might be surprised. However, when the child reiterating is asked why the action. The answer will be simple. The kid is fighting the other because it is the other kid who started the fight. And by fighting back. The second kid is sending a message to the bully. That he or she cannot be played with. Some kids just take matters into their own hands. And square things out. Before the play talk gets to their parents. As you can see. There is always justification for every action.

Even kids base their actions on a specific reason. However, when you plant a seed using wrong actions. The justification does not matter. The seed will grow and someone will have to deal with the consequences. Don’t become a useful goon to someone else. The fracas could be entertaining. The money could be sweet. The action could seem as the right thing at the moment. And the place could also seem as the right place. Everyone will be there. You will also want to be there. But then what? Is being idle enough reason to cause pain, loss, and frustration? Is money too good than another person’s life? Think about all these things. Don’t move around half-baked. Don’t act in ignorance. This is real life. And in real life. Everything has consequences. What you give back will come back to you.
