Take Responsibility

What happens when you have enough food on your plate, and you still want more? You have enough resources that can bring the best in you. You have access to the best people. People who are fully committed to helping you showcase your gifts and talents. And these people really show up for you every day. They do their work to the best of their abilities. And true to their believe. You become one of the best. You go out to the market and it never takes long. You deliver every time you get to work. And your efforts are reciprocated with hefty pays. You live one of the best lives. You end up with everything you need. You live a lifestyle of your choice. But again, all these riches and opportunities are not enough. You need more. You want to do more. Whatever is on your plate is not good enough. Yet, that table is full of everything.

Greediness is not only looked down in one of the most revered books but also in everyday life.  Greedy people have a problem. They don’t know when they get satisfied. Because all they do is keep taking. Even when they don’t need it. As long as, they can amass. As long as, they can find like-minded people. They won’t have a problem taking. Even when that taking leads to wastage. Greedy people don’t care about the people they harm along the way. They only care about what they want. Selfishness is their signature style. And they have no shame. They can rob during the day. And walk away as if nothing happened.  But all this act of greediness is foolishness. No one walks away free. No one is too smart to everyone. There are consequences to every action. Whether good or bad. The mere fact that the effect is delayed does not mean it is not there.

Don’t be fooled. Everyone must take responsibility at a given point in life. Don’t allow your heart to be fooled. Don’t intoxicate yourself with wrong teachings. Crime is crime. It does not matter how smart you think you are. You will give account for every wrong. If the legal means of making money were not enough for you. You will deal with the consequences of delinquency. When you mix greediness and foolishness. You get a strong lie. A fat lie that tells you can get away with everything. Because your head has stopped performing its crucial function. You get corrupted. And live with a puffy head that cannot think. You don’t make sense because everything you are doing does not make sense. Who in their right mind can throw away a full plate with delicious food? You tell me. Who does that? Who walks over a good career with the right pay?

Nobody in their right mind does outrageous things like these. However, when you feed a lie. You can do anything. And become anything. Including throwing away legacy for short-term gratification. Greediness make people live in their own eco-chambers. Because they build false kingdoms and castles. Where they become masters and rulers. Ascending to the throne of their own kingdoms. Fools them into believing that they are untouchable. So they climb into leadership of recklessness and destruction. A lifestyle of abuse. And partnering with other selfish people to do more harm. While ruling in false kingdoms and using their positions to trick people. Greedy people think they are above the law. And mistake the little trust they gained while in the market as a stamp of approval. But what a hearty lie?

If you don’t respect what you already have on the table. But continue taking where you should not. You will end up in jail. And when that happens. You will lose everything. Greediness and foolishness are not only recipes for a heavy downfall but also loss of common sense. When you lose common sense. You become irrelevant. The idea of people wanting more. When they already have more is misleading. When you mix legal and illegal means of gaining money. It means you have not only lost a sense of direction but also yourself. You have lost leadership over yourself. The ability to scale to greater heights. If your intention of needing more was right. It would have directed you to use legal means to scale even more. However, the moment crime is involved as a means to scale. You lose relevance.  You are charting a wrong path. This path will lead you to destroy good things with your own hands.

Because you don’t know when to get satisfied. Your misplaced perception makes you think that you deserve every good thing you see. Yet, that perception itself is the mistake. What makes you think you deserve everything? The only most important person who is qualified to make such demands. Does not make demands at all. Instead, the person asks what he can do for others. Wise people serve others. They live a life of service. They solve problems. And help to carry heavy burdens with those in need. They don’t steal during the day with sharp eyes. Instead, they create solutions that make life more meaningful. They bring joy in places where it does not exist. They are grateful and know when to stop. Their goal is not to be the richest in a poor neighborhood. It is not about fame and influence. But rather transformation.

The most qualified person does not deserve every good thing. The most qualified person is an expert in empathy. Don’t walk around with a fool’s head. Don’t feed your mind fat lies. Every false thing falls to its own devices. Just as it was hastily put together. It falls apart so fast. And it does not matter how elaborate it was put together. Because a lie will always be a lie. Even when it is disguised as the greatest truth in human history. Greedy people too, get unmasked. The number of years does not matter. As long as, you live a double life. You will fall. If you keep taking from the plates of those who have little. Time will expose you. And that will be the saddest day in your life. All that everyone will see is the disrespect you showed. There were people who worked hard to give you everything you needed. But you trampled on all those good things because you were a fool. Watch yourself. Life is justice.
