The Hard Truth

There are so many things, which are already complex in life. Things like figuring out who you are. And what you are supposed to become. This part is hard for so many people. Not everyone wakes up one morning and knows what to do. People struggle every day to find out who they are and their purpose in life. Not knowing who you are is hard enough. And you are not alone who is still figuring things out. There are so many people out there wondering too. Their lives are so complicated that they cannot even admit to themselves that they will need to work hard. Not knowing who you are, is a hard truth. One that is too difficult to swallow. A lot of don’t like hearing it. When they come to the hard parts of their lives. They just vanish. And wish that when they show up again. Things will have work out. But that not how life happens. Life calls you to hard labor. Hard labor meant to refine you. If at all. You accept the mission.

Yet, when they look around. Other people seem to have figured things out. Their life seems to be progressing. They seem to know what to do next all the time. That part where another person knows what to do. And the other does not know what to do is a total frustration. A complex puzzle in the lives of other people. This is just one area where most people struggle. However, life serves a lot of dishes every day. Life must go on whether you know what to become or not. This is the other second hard truth. Which points out that, whether you figure out things or not. Life has nothing to do with that frustration. It will keep going. And bring up other issues that you are also supposed to face. And when we get to this part. Most people declare that life is unfair. It is unfair because some people are far advanced than others. And somehow, those who have not pulled themselves together.

Feel like they are being left behind. At the expense of those making progress. That is how complicated life looks like at face value. We are not equal. We are all different. Human beings were created to do different things in life. My contribution to life and society looks different from your contribution. That difference however, should not serve as an intimidation to anyone. It is just nature. Human beings are different. That is our natural design. The difference that each one of us carry is not meant to make our lives complicated. In fact, that difference is supposed to be our innovation. A uniqueness that makes life better. When you don’t know your purpose in life. Don’t get frustrated. Instead, uncomplicated your life. Simplify your life by committing to something deeper and much more meaningful. One of those closest assets you can tap into, is the power behind asking.

Purpose in Life?

Start asking important questions. Ask important questions to the right people. Ask a question such as, how do people know their purpose in life? Direct this question to the right people. Some of those right people include but not limited to your school counselling department if there is one in your school. Go for spiritual counselling in your local parish or work with a career expert. Just ensure you speak about your deepest concerns with someone. This is a good place to begin. At least with these three resources. You will end up with a rough idea about your purpose. However, asking questions or speaking with the right people is not the problem. The complication behind finding yourself is just yourself. Before you get to asking questions and working with experts. You must begin with admitting that you truly have a problem. You must admit that you are struggling to make progress.

That is how you uncomplicated life. Life is too complicated until you uncomplicated it. The things that you struggle with are not hard. Problems that frustrate you every day are not complex puzzles. These problems are just obstacles, which you need to see. Seeing obstacles demand that you take responsibility. So, become a responsible person first. Know your burdens. Seat with those burdens. Understand them. And their weight. And once you figure out how heavy they are. Move to the next stage. Start sorting out these problems. Group them in different categories. The ones that you can solve categorize them under my effort. And those, which are beyond your capabilities and experiences. Categorize them under expert. That means you will need to find people who are much more experienced than you in those specific areas to help you.

And as you can see. There is nothing complicated here. Yes, it is not complicated. However, it is not easy either. Solving any problem not only requires admission but also courage. It takes courage to be vulnerable. Admitting to other people that you don’t know is hard. Some people cannot get to this point of humbling themselves. But if you are serious. Then, find courage. Play your part. Create time and fix those areas. The ones within your reach. Asks those questions. Acknowledge that you have a problem. Then, match that problem with the right resources and tools, which effectively solve the problem. Don’t go for short-term solutions. Go for real solutions. It might take longer to fix problems. However, remain focused and keep your eyes on the mission. Find yourself. Once, you fix your part. And feel confident in the solutions. Move on to the next task. Go to the school counsellor. Visit your local parish and share your struggles.

Commit Yourself

The more you will commit to solving rather than complaining. The more you will move closer to knowing your purpose. Life is not difficult. It is just our perceptions. Don’t run away from your burdens. Don’t seat on your problems. Postponing them until later. Does not fix them. Find courage. And face all your challenges. Getting frustrated about it is not enough. Put in the action. This time round. Don’t just count your blessings. Number your challenges too. Come to terms with them. Feel their weight. And after you have done all those things. Accept that some things need to change around your life. Fix all the broken things around your life. Perform your duties responsibly. Finding your purpose requires work. Work hard. And find yourself. Stop struggling. Stop getting frustrated about things you don’t know. Work with the right people. Go for the right solutions.

Get over the blame game mentality. Get out of your own echo chamber. Don’t get used to hearing your own narratives. Go for the hard truth. One that tells you. You don’t something. Work with the truth that helps you to see your weaknesses. Don’t fight with people. Listen to the truth. And commit to improving all those weaknesses pointed out. The more you focus on improvement. The closer you will get to real growth. A human being was not created perfect. However, a human being was created capable of improvement. If you commit to learning new things. You will fill in the blank spaces.

There are solutions scattered around you. You only need to open your eyes. See the ugly things.  Those that need more effort. Ask for help. Remove fear, insecurities, pride, petty ego, shame, and echo chambers. And go for the hard truth that heals. Accept correction. Listen to good counsel. And put in the real work. Uncomplicate your own life. Become a responsible person. One that is swift. Become a person that notices things. Then, commit yourself to self-improvement until you find yourself.
