Changing
from one thing to the next requires effort. The effort needed must be performed
by the person looking to change. You cannot achieve self-improvement without
effort. You must be willing to identify the area that needs change or
improvement and commit to activities that will bring you the desired change. To
become the new person that you want to become. You must decide as an individual
to get to work. The individual must take the first initiative to create any
form of improvement or change. It does not matter how many people are rooting
for you. Unless you as the individual decide that change is needed. The people
supporting you can only do so much. Change is personal and the person looking
for change must be willing to pay the price. You must be willing to work hard.
And commit to the process of change from beginning to the end.
You the individual, must be the most motivated above everyone else. You should practically be driving the change you need. You should become the leader in your own change. Make difficult decisions. Be courageous. Don’t hide when it becomes hard. Show up every day no matter your mood. Do the work that will get you to your desired change. Any self-improvement is hard work. You must accept that hard work and do the activities. It will be a long road. However, don’t focus on the road. Focus on how much you are doing every day to cover every mile on the road. Fight for your improvement. It will be a tough journey. However, if improvement is what you are looking for, you will get it. As long as, you remain in the game. As you can see, self-improvement is a process of decision-making and commitment. You first decide that something needs to change. Something that you don’t like. Then you get committed to the process that leads you to the desired outcome. Discover these three self-improvement tools and solve what has been bothering you.
Journaling
Journaling
is a very powerful self-improvement tool. The activity not only helps you to
process your thoughts but also document every thought. It helps you to capture
what is going on every day in your mind. When you take up journaling as your
self-improvement tool, you will be able to document your feelings, thoughts,
and everything else that you deem is holding you back. This is a very
interactive tool that will also help you discover wrong patterns in your
thoughts. For instance, if you suffer from anger. Journaling will help you
release hot emotions of anger and revenge. You will begin the journaling
process by stating what is making you so angry. Here, you will write down
everything that you are angry with or about. Then, you move to the next stage
of documenting how things you are angry with are making you feel.
And
once you get to understand things that provoke you. You learn to take back
control. You identify things and people that anger you and how they do it.
These are important insights. The intelligence you collected after journaling
will shape your next action. In the future, instead of going rogue when angry.
You will learn to slow down. To be more in charge not the people or things that
provoke you. One of the most visible aspect of journaling is the power it gives
you to talk. Just sitting down and writing about everything that concerns you.
Your worries. Your progress. Your failures. Everything that you deem important.
Journaling helps you capture your thoughts and what is going on in your mind.
If you embrace this tool and use it every day, you will experience tremendous
change in your life.

Set Goals
There
are things that matter to you. Sit down and mastermind how you will achieve
them. Learn about the cost of each item on your list. Identify how and where
you will source the money needed to meet every cost. This step is important.
Knowing the cost of each item will transition you from being a mere thinker.
You will become a rational objective thinker. Who will understand that to
achieve what you want, hard work will be needed. You will have to sacrifice
your comfort zone. You will need to roll your sleeves and get things done. You
will have to prioritize what goes first and what follows. You will need to
learn everything that goes into getting something from the ground up. You will
learn what it means to pay the price. You will also learn what taking the right
steps means. There will be no room for laziness.
Setting goals is an everyday activity. You must know where you are going and how you are going. You just don’t wake up and go. You must have a plan of how you are going. Cost every step in your journey. Know your beginning and your ending. Learn what each stage will cost you. How much energy will you need to begin and how much energy will you need to finish. Set goals for every step in your important matters. Seek to understand how you begin and end your project. Whatever it is that you are interested to accomplish, learn all the steps. Have some reasons why you are doing it. What does doing it means to you? What are you looking to achieve? And what will, achieving it make you feel? Think about all these things. Don’t be just busy because everyone else is busy. Have a reason for your busy. Have some reason why you are waking up in the middle of the night to do certain things.
Set goals for every step in your important project or matter. Begin by defining why you want to participate in the project. List all the benefits that completing the project will bring to you. Now address the elephant in the room. How much will it cost from beginning to end? Come to terms with each cost. And after you have spent some time with the cost. Ask yourself if, you can afford it now. And if you learn that you cannot afford it now. What are you going to do to afford it now. If, the project must be completed in the next few months. Are you willing to shoulder the heavy weight? Do you have the energy? What are you going to do? Think about everything. And only proceed when you are sure of what you are doing. That is what goal setting does to you. It helps you to justify why some actions are needed now or not needed at all. You must have a reason before taking on any project.
