A BEGINNER'S GUIDE: 7 DAYS COLOSSAL CHANGE
PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT
What Is the Change?
Change
is more complicated than you think. It is one thing to want change. And a
totally different thing altogether to achieve the desired change. Talking about
it and wanting it does not culminate in attaining the change you need. Getting
to the desired change demands vision, discipline, and commitment. You need all
these key things because change is difficult. It is easier said than done. And
if you miss one of the three ingredients, we might not have the colossal
change. Because comfort zone is a sweet spot. And real people struggle to get
out of their comfort zones. So you must be disciplined from day one. Your
foundation must be strong. The drive to change must supersede your excuses. You
must have the vision of your change. You need to know what you want to change.
And how you will attain that change.
There is nothing pretty about change. It is hard work and sweat. You must be willing to sweat it all out. Your commitment in the desired change goes beyond talking about it. It transitions from talk to action. And action is not comfortable. It is demanding and calls for consistency. You must be the right person for this type of work. Someone that is capable of making difficult decisions. Someone that can withstand strong storms. And still remain focused on the goal. This is what change demands. Someone that can labor day and night. Because you only have seven days. And these seven days will come across as your biggest test. They will determine whether you are committed to the process or not. So you must be the right person. Someone that is here to get the job done no matter the circumstances.
Decisions
As a
beginner looking to attain any type of change. You need to begin your change
process with good decisions. Decision-making plays a critical role in winning
or losing a goal. You must be a bold decision-maker. Someone that does not
doubt the process. You must enter the process whole-heartedly. Your decisions
must reflect objectivity. You need to know what you are getting yourself into.
You must come to terms with things falling out of hand. However, you will still
be required to show up. And get to work like nothing happened yesterday. Your
decisions must lead you to this mentality. They should get you in a place in
your mind where you cannot go back once you motion the change process. Your
decisions should sustain you in the change. You achieve this by defining the
meaning of the desired change and why it is important to you.
When you mix good decisions with discipline, your vision will become clearer. You will know where to begin and where to end. You cannot achieve a goal unless you know the first action. The first step matters. The first action will tell you whether you are still committed or you want more time. However, with seven days on the clock. You need to become serious very quickly. That is why your thought process and decision-making has to be good. You must be reliable. Your decisions must be reliable. And strong enough to last to the end. You don’t have time to make one decision today and change it tomorrow. You have today to decide how the rest of your week will function. And no one is coming to rescue you. As a beginner, you must learn to make objective decisions. Decisions that result in a tangible outcome.
Get to Work
Now
that you have decided properly. It is time to get to work. You have had enough
time to think about it. You have vocalized how the change will go down. And you
know the change that you want to implement. Making decisions, knowing the
change, and summoning discipline happened in day one. And for you to zero in to
this particular habit. You must have thought about it for some time. And you
concluded that this is the change you needed. Now in day two, you are going to
perform the first task in the new habit you would like to introduce or the bad
old habit you would like to kick out of your life. If your change involves
walking for 30 minutes. You will walk for 30 minutes. And make it a trip. You will
move from point A to point D. And return from point D to A. That is your first
trip in day two. This means, you make time to perform tasks and activities
required to achieve the change.
Your discipline and commitment will help you remain focused. There will be enough temptations on the way. However, if this is what you want. You will get it done. On your fifth and sixth day, you will implement all the activities and tasks. This means, you will complete the remaining tasks for each day. Your change had a whole list with tasks. Ensure you complete each task. In a nutshell, your change begun with your decision. And morphed into an itinerary. An itinerary tested your commitment levels by suggesting tasks for you. And discipline helped you to stick to each task from day one to day six. Therefore, on day seven you will have established a routine. A routine that you can follow and adopt in your life. This routine will give you the change you wanted. And get you closer to almost changing anything in your life.
Reflect
On
day seven, you will reflect on the entire process. You will tell us- reflect
on how you felt doing all the activities. How does it feel doing the activities
in your desired change? Did you love the process? Reliving the moments will
teach you a good lesson. That you must know what you want before changing
anything. You will learn from this simple exercise that effort is needed to
achieve something. You only succeeded in creating a product after performing
certain actions. The tasks you completed every day became your routine. And
this routine can be replicated in other areas of your life. It is a beginning
of many more wonderful memories in the future. Your life can actually change in
seven days. You can get unwanted things out and bring new habits in. You have
the power. You are capable. Change is only a decision away. Though complicated
and difficult. Boldness and commitment sustained you. And now, you know how to change
anything in your life. Start with a vision. Get disciplined. And perform the
tasks.
