ARE THEY REALLY NOTHING?

GOAL SETTING A college loving kid proving that he is not Nothing /Photo Courtesy /Tara Winstead Nothing? There comes a time in life when a kid has to grow up. And start making decisions. Life changing decisions for that matter. Decisions such as, going to college. And preparing for life’s biggest responsibilities. During this critical time. Parents are usually on the edge of their seats. They are on the edge because they are afraid of hearing some things. Kids have graduated high school and some have received invitations to some of the best colleges in the country. Parents in most occasions, want to keep the college conversation going. They want to talk about their kids’ college choices with their friends and neighbors. College conversation is a good conversation. Because most parents think that going to college is a window of opportunities. And to some extent it is, especially for those students who want to go to college. Kids that have already visualized the kind of professio...

WHEN THEY DISRUPT YOU

Remain Steadfast

When you are in the middle of your most important projects. And suddenly, your operations get disrupted, don’t panic. Instead, adjust yourself and get notice of the disruption. When everything has been going on well, and unexpectedly a disruption. You need to pay attention. You need to understand the nature of disruption. There is something in there for you to learn. And if you end up angry, you will miss the lesson. You will not track the disruption back to its source. So when they disrupt you, do not falter. Remain steadfast. Focus on the assignment ahead of you. Do not get disrupted by the distraction. Something is happening. You need to find out what is happening. Whatever is happening, you need to understand.

In front of you is a disruption that is slowing you down. A disruption that is throwing you off balance. However, beyond the surface, there is a lesson for you. Go for the lesson. Having a sudden unexpected impact on your schedule, will definitely upset you. You had created your own flow. And the flow was working for you. You were solving problems. You were making significant progress. You were almost getting it right. In fact, you were a few steps to the final touch. But someone had to disrupt you. Something had to unplug you. You just cannot make progress like that at the expense of their stagnation. They had to do something. Something that will slow you down. People with negative attitudes and bad energies want to drag you behind. They want you stack. They want you to look like them. So they went behind the scenes.

And when you were not watching, they schemed. And now you are wondering, what is happening? Whatever is happening was planned. Someone somewhere is not happy. And to express that unhappiness, a decoy had to be created. The disruption in front of you is a decoy. There is a big plan behind it. A plan of destruction. This is what the disruption is all about. Someone wants whatever good that was going on in you destroyed. Someone wants you to lag behind. Someone wants to rob you. The shadowy figure wants to take your joy of accomplishment. Your happiness. Your peace. And your focus. Therefore, when they disrupt you, don’t give in. Remain steadfast.

Remain focused. Look at the bigger picture. The bigger picture is your overall good and success of your operations. If, you don’t pay attention, you will not grasp the lesson. You will get lost in the disruption. Your emotions will cloud your judgment. You will lose the idea that you were developing. You will be thrown off balance. You will lose your energy. Your joy of work will be disrupted. Do not let that happen. Remain steadfast and look forward. Watch the nature of your disruption. What exactly has been disrupted? Was it something that had a deadline? And why is now the perfect time for the disruption to take place? Think about all these things. Whatever you are seeing is not just a disruption. It is a destruction launching softly. When you understand that the disruption is a destruction in the long-term. You need to think better.

You need to stop being angry of getting distracted. You want to come up with a strong strategy to counter this disruption. People should not sit somewhere, and think that they can just disrupt you. That they can influence how things happen in your life. You need to refuse getting disrupted. Say no to this kind of schemes by coming up with a strong measure. Your control measure should be stringent. Your strategy should be backed up with effective steps that seal possible opportunities for these types of disruptions. Your best approach to sudden disruptions is to remain level-headed. Control your emotions. Stop reacting with the matter. However, think beyond the matter. Think about why a ten-minute update is taking the whole day now. What changed? You just had an update two days ago.

Why will another prompt for update appear shortly after completing a successful update? Think about that too. Stop getting upset. Stop getting disrupted. Focus your energies. See what you are not seeing. There is something wrong. And it is your responsibility to see that wrong. If, your projects have to succeed. If your progress has to continue, you need to see what is not being shown on the surface. However, if you get carried away in the mess. You will not see anything. You will not learn. You will miss the lesson. You will miss the opportunity to plan better for another unexpected circumstance in the future. When they disrupt you, don’t get distracted. Remain standing. Remain balanced. Be objective. Look at the bigger picture. Scratch the surface. Learn whatever was hidden from your plain eyes.

Get behind the scenes. See the problem, which is disguised as a disruption. And start tackling the hidden problem. Focus on the problem. The objective of having a disruption, instead of the problem itself, was an element of surprise. You were supposed to be caught unaware. To get shocked and in the process end up disoriented. Someone wanted you badly shocked. The shadowy figure wanted you shocked that it would take time before you recover. Someone wanted you to lose your stamina. Your motivation and excitement. That is why a disruption not the problem appeared first. However, if you remain steadfast and learn. Your operations will  not get disrupted. You will prevent that from happening by being objective. By being rational. When you remain rational, you will go for the solution. You will get to the bottom of the disruption.

You will identify the source. You will trace the movement of the disruption. You will know who is behind it and why it is happening now. You will learn the lesson. You will strategize better. You will understand that not everyone is excited about your progress. You will understand that the disruption was a fight. A shadowy figure was fighting you. The figure is not happy with your progress. The disruption was meant to slow you down. To make you lose track. To waste time complaining. The disruption was meant to steal from you. It was meant to prevent you from achieving your goal. Someone wanted you to lose something. The disruption is not natural. You were at the critical point of your operations.

The disruption came to deter you. Disruption is pulling you behind. That is the lesson you need to learn. Remain focused. Because when you remain focused, you will not lag behind. Your progress will not be disrupted. The negative that was supposed to happen will not happen. Instead, you will restore your smooth operations. That can only happen when you remain resolute. So, when they disrupt you, be steadfast and push back. Don’t fall. Be steady.
