Living ignorant is one of the bad choices in the 21^st Century. There is information all over. There are resources to access information. Resources that keep you comfortable and relaxed. There is no excuse to living ignorant in an information age. Information about anything is highly organized and presented to the world. You just need to know what you want. And you will easily find answers. You will find knowledge. You will find guidance. You will be connected to the experts. And you can explore from there to develop a better understanding of what you are interested to learn. However, it is also unfortunate. Unfortunate that some people are still lagging behind. They are left behind either by design or default. We really empathize with those who remain behind as a result of default.

Living ignorant by design is undesirable. There is some level of toxicity. A toxicity that present threats and risks not only to the individual but also people around. Some people have refused to make progress. They have everything right there. But they are not showing interest. They are not learning. They are not interested in developing themselves. They are not interested in understanding. They are contented with what they have. And they are not adding anything new. They are okay with the knowledge they acquired ten years ago. Yet, things are changing every day. But these people have refused to evolve. And they have decided that, the best way to go forward is to fill up the empty space with toxicity. And their primary work every day is to get in the way of other people. To disturb peace. Here are the three undesirable effects of living ignorant.

Misrepresentations

Living ignorant makes people who choose these path misrepresent a lot of things. These are the types of people who do not have a clear picture of who they are in the first place. They don’t have a definite definition of themselves. They don’t know their strength. They don’t know their power. They live their lives as a cocktail of so many things. Their identity is influenced by different things from their environment. Therefore, as a result of not knowing who they really are and what they stand for in life, they carry these burdens and misrepresentations to other people. People who live ignorant think that other people are like them. That other people want mediocrity. And other people also don’t know themselves. As a result, living ignorant people, start asserting their values on other people. Other people they don’t know well. And they mistakenly think that, other people enjoy what they enjoy.

Living ignorant people fail to understand that society is made up of many things. And people are different. Other people’s motivation to life is different. Different things wake up people every day. We all don’t wake up because we are thirsty in the middle of the night. We wake up to different things. Living ignorant people don’t understand that. They don’t understand the differences among people. The different desires that make people behave and act in certain ways. They just assume that A leads to B. And in the process of making these assumptions, they make some of the worst mistakes. Mistakes such as, using assumptions. About people they don’t know. People they just assume they know. And using their flawed judgment, they think that they know these people.

They also go farther and think that, they have power over other people. People they don’t know. People they don’t understand what they want. And because they see these people within their surroundings, they just assume their needs. It is even absurd because no one tells living ignorant people to analyze other people. No one commissions them to understand or learn about the needs of other people. But since they are ignorant, they just get in the way of other people. People who have nothing to do with them. And when they continuously interfere. And when the other people notice or warn them. They start being passive aggressive. They don’t even know that they are infringing on the privacy of other people. They don’t see infringement as a mistake. They just think they are entitled. And that is where misrepresentations begin.

The moment living ignorant people are warned. They convert that warning into resentment. They begin to resent people they don’t know. They begin to malign people they don’t know. They begin to misrepresent. Simply because they were stopped. And they did not like the idea of being stopped. They did not like being called out. They wanted to continue trespassing. Continue disrespecting and get away with it. It is even interesting how living ignorant people interpret things. Their perspectives are misplaced. They don’t work with reality. They don’t function with facts. And they don’t learn. A living ignorant person wants to quickly turn to resentment than learning. They just don’t correct mistakes. It is always the other person who is wrong not them. Ignorance by design is dangerous.

Misguided Attitudes

Living ignorant people don’t just end with misrepresentations. They also suffer from misguided attitudes. Attitudes that have the capacity to destroy good things. One of those misguided attitude is apathy. Living ignorant people have no interest in learning new things. They are lazy. They don’t go for facts. Their misguided attitudes do not allow them to explore. They thrive in slander. And they place a high value on it. Gossip to ignorant people is the truth. Misinformation and misrepresentations are facts. And these people don’t care about the damage. They just go from one slander to the next. Talking about this person to that person. They create false narratives and spread them. They don’t care about the other person. They don’t care about the dangers of misguided attitudes. Wrong attitudes.

They don’t care that they are stuck somewhere. That they don’t know better. That they don’t have any form of positive influence on other people. But they instead, pretend to have influence and power. They think that they can profile people and place those people in a certain box. That they can control other people. That they can assert their misguided attitudes and values. They pretend to know people. They pretend to know so many things. When in reality, all they know is gossip. They know things they cannot substantiate. Their misguided attitudes do not give them permission to leave their comfort zone. So they don’t make progress. They don’t learn. They don’t develop the attitude of understanding before talking. They just talk. They just misrepresent. They just spread rumors. And they are okay living that way.

Living on Half-truths

Half-truths is the haven of ignorant people. They worship these half-truths. They are not interested in alternative information. They know what they know and that is it. They are neither adding nor reducing. They have reached their limit. And no one can move them from there. If, you try to challenge them, you are the enemy. They don’t see the problems of half-truths. They don’t see anything wrong with advancing misguided truths. All they know is they love this kind of life. And they are not ready to give up the luxuries of living ignorant. They are okay being in the comfort zone. Their life is doing just fine. They are making progress. And they don’t want to rock their boat. They are not willing to welcome a new alternative. The truth is not just their way. Short cuts. Fragments. Fractions and halves are the way.

Their cup filled long time ago. And it has never been emptied. So no new things are needed. People are comfortable here and they don’t want alternatives. They just want their half-truths. They are home that way. They have made a choice, and they are living it. Yet, so many things are changing. But they are stuck in the past. And they don’t want to break their relationship with the past. So, they are just comfortable hurting other people. Comfortable spreading their half-truths. And they don’t want to be questioned or called out.

They want to continue stepping on toes, and look the other way. They are like little children who don’t think about the consequences of their actions. Living ignorant people don’t exercise their common sense. They just disrupt and go. They misrepresent and go. They upset and leave. They think that everyone lives in their little world. A world without innovation and growth. They are ignorant and they think that everyone is ignorant. That everyone wants half-truths. That everyone wants these undesirable characteristics. Characteristics, which stand in the way of progress. Characteristics with very devastating threats, dangers, and evil. You got to think better. You cannot live this way. there is so much in life. Don’t be limited.
