Ignorance

The modern society is interesting in so many ways. One of those ways is the people. People in modern society are interesting. We have a beautiful world. With wonderful people in it. And we have been blessed with a 21^st Century. An information age Century. You can easily access information in the 21^st Century. Ordinary things have been converted into highly interactive, and meaningful tools. Take your smartphone for example. Your mobile phone in modern society is so many things. So many things that can transform your life as you watch. You just don’t make calls. Your Smartphone is also your entertainment hub. You can learn and see a lot on this 1080 by 1920 screen. It is appealing. And fit for the highest quality content. You can get anything you want from your Smartphone. You can get money and even shopping from your phone. This is how interesting life has become in modern society.

A society where anything is possible. You just need to know what you want. And you can get it. Yet, on top of all these interesting things powered by technological changes. There still remains ignorance in modern society. There are ignorant people in modern society. The type of ignorance is not lack of education. People have some level of education. They can think for themselves. However, they also have challenges. They have created burdens and obstacles for themselves. They are not making meaningful progress. So, they have a problem with other people. And they have decided to create division as a result of ignorance. They live with these people, yet they don’t know these people. And since, these people look a little bit different from them. They decide to isolate them. On the grounds that they look different.

They don’t behave like them. They don’t fit into the societal stereotypes. So, motivated by ignorance, they create division. Meaningless division. Division that should not exist in the first place. The people that ignorant people isolate live among them. These people are within reach. This means that, if, there is something that anyone wants to learn, he or she can access the person he/she wants information from. But people have remained ignorant. Instead of going for the right information to understand people. Ignorant people just assume. They assume that they know these people. That the reason they act different or look different is because of this or that. The assumed identity that ignorant people place on people act different. The false identities that they create for them.

Ignorance has stood in the way of understanding. And people are not challenging their ignorance. They are not ready to learn new things. They are not ready to ask. Instead, they are ready to create division. They place false identities on people who look different and act different and use those false identities to divide. And they don’t just divide. Ignorant people living in modern society also spread rumors. They popularize the false identities. And in the process connecting with other ignorant people. And unite around it. They create false narratives about people they don’t know. People that they assume to know. Yet, when these people stand in front of them, they say nothing. They want to vanish in the thin air. They don’t know how to start a conversation. A constructive conversation with a stranger.

And since, they have a problem with starting conversations. They use assumptions and false narratives to get back to people they don’t know. Yet, the people they divide in their minds have nothing to do with them. The people who look different or act different are just interested in their freedoms. And they love living their lives in a certain way. A certain way that ignorant people interpret and use to create division in society. They create division knowingly and willingly because they know they can access the right information. They can access the people. They can learn about the people. However, they choose division because it is easy to create. Because they have like-minded people motivating them. They have created a sense of community by biting other people behind the scenes. They prosper in darkness.

They succeed when people they talk about are not there. They are hot topics for discussion. People unite around them and talk about non-existent things about them. However, when these people are present, no one says something. But people are willing to gossip. They are willing to create false identities and spread misguided narratives. They enjoy being ignorant and using their ignorance to create things that do not exist. And they don’t see the danger that comes with falseness and lies.  People uniting around ignorance and using it to malign people they don’t like. People that they are jealous about. When all they needed to do, before spreading false narratives was to open up conversations. Conversations about things that they don’t understand about them.

 Foolishness

Divisions in most occasions are generated by people who don’t know better. People who are limited. People who don’t want to learn. People who don’t want to make progress. They are stuck in their foolishness and want other people to see things from their point of view. And when people challenge those foolish points of views, they create enemies out of them. They begin to isolate. They begin to form communities that are united by foolishness because they want to feel comfortable. They don’t want to be challenged. So they find like-minded people as their support system. And the crowds begin to get bigger and bigger. Discussing assumptions and misrepresentations. Ignorant people are also foolish people. They are stuck. Because they reject wisdom. And they prefer certain standards. Standards that create division.

Standards that spread misinformation. Standards that create risks for other people. They never think about risks. They never think about the dangers of the false narratives and identities. They just create dangerous assumptions because doing so makes them feel good. It gives them a sense of control. A false control. In their mind, they think that they know these people so well. That they can describe them in a single word or narrative. However, in reality, ignorant and foolish people don’t know anything in particular. They just have pockets of information. Information that is not useful because they get their fractions of information from wrong sources. Sources that also don’t know what they are sharing. So society ends up with a collection of people who pretend to know so much. Yet don’t know anything.

They just assume that they know things and people. They don’t care about the quality of information. They don’t care about the truth. They also don’t care about the problems that they create for people they create division and false narratives around. They enjoy dehumanizing people they don’t like. They enjoy creating monsters out of people who look and act different. Ignorant and foolish people enjoy status quo and they hate people who don’t subscribe to those standards. And since they are comfortable in the mundane, they don’t want to rock the boat. Instead, they resort to tactics that keep them comfortable and united. They glorify ignorance and remain in ignorance. There is no meaningful progress in their lives. They don’t have goals. They don’t have dreams. So they work hard to pull down people who have dreams and goals. Ignorance and foolishness creates division in society.

Arrogance

Ignorance and foolishness have their cousin arrogance. Arrogance too creates division in society. Arrogant people also don’t know about something, and they are not willing to ask about that something. So they hide in their petty egos and create division. The section of society characterized with ignorant, foolish, and arrogant people also exist in modern society. This section sees the changes that are taking place in society. This section even talks about these changes. But it never takes action. The section never learns. The section never grows. The section loves the comfort zone. The section loves laziness. It loves easy way of living. It never goes beyond its comfort zone to seek new knowledge. And it cares very little about integrity. This is one of the reason it creates division and spread misinformation.  

This section of society has opportunities to correct mistakes. But it never takes the opportunities. It never challenges its status quo. Instead, it creates toxicity. The isolations and divisions that it creates are quite unnecessary. The section has everything in front of it. But it has made a choice to remain ignorant. It has decided to embrace foolishness. And arrogance cannot allow it to make progress. So it is stuck in its own quagmire. And is not looking for help. Being stuck looks easy than seeking help. And everyone in the section is comfortable with being stuck. People in the section have embraced negativity. People want to create toxic environments for other people. People want division. People in the section love fake things. They enjoy marketing false things.

You need to stop creating division in society. You need to start learning. Modern society is interesting. It can give the mediocrity that you love or progress you choose. People need to start thinking better. You need to start thinking better. You need to do something about that ignorance. You cannot live that way the rest of your life. You cannot normalize creating division in society because of ignorance. You need to shake up the shackles that are holding you back. You need a dream of your own. A goal of your own. Stop paying too much attention towards other people. Stop staring too much. Instead, start talking. Ask questions. Open up conversations.

Fill up your time with something productive. Let other people alone. We cannot all love the same thing. Every human being is different. The mere fact that you found those who look like you, does not necessarily mean everyone acts like you. People are different. And they have been different from the beginning. So get over your arrogance, and start learning. Stop creating division in society. You don’t have an enemy. Your ignorance, foolishness, and arrogance are the enemies. Fight these enemies. Not people you just see and assume to know.
